I can't believe it is almost July 4th already! Summer is flying by. I love July 4th. I don't know if it is the cookouts with friends or the fireworks, but July 4th is one of my favorite holidays. For the past few years, my friends and I have run the Peachtree Road Race, a huge 10K race here in Atlanta and we are doing it again this year, followed by a bottomless mimosa brunch (the calories totally cancel each other out, right??).
One of the challenges of this holiday is how to show your spirit in a non-costumey way. My mother always goes for the flag shirts from Old Navy, but I've decided to go in a slightly different direction. This outfit has red, white, and blue elements, but this leopard clutch and arm candy move it far away from "costume" to a look that can be worn all summer. I guess leopard really does make everything better.
What are your holiday weekend plans? I hope you have a great holiday weekend and I will see you back here on Monday as I'm not posting on Friday!!

ReplyDeleteHi! Happy (Belated) July 4th! I think it is fabulous you participate in a 5K every year...Good for you! And tbh, I went a *little* crazy this year by wearing a sparkly top hat and putting light up stars on the brim. I had to work at my baseball stadium and thought it was a little festive for the occasion! But yes, if I wasn't working, I would have gone with an outfit like yours or your moms:) Anyway, hope you had a fabulous holiday!
ReplyDeletexo Olivia
Great 4th picks! I like the subtle patriotism for everyday wear but went a little over the top this year haha.

I have always loved denim shorts paired with a white button-down shirt for Summer. It is easy. breezy, cool and perfect. Then your cheetah clutch, red flats and gorgeous bracelets elevate your look more. =)))
