Learning to Shop My Closet

Jacket: Boutique find, similar, similar
Dress: Forever 21, old, similar, similar
Purse: Old Navy (still in stores), similar, similar budget option
Tights: Spanx, similar
Shoes: Fendi, old
Necklace: Bauble Bar, sold out, love this one and this one
Earrings: Bauble Bar, sold out
Bracelets: Bauble Bar (here, here)

I hope your week is going well!  I'm slowly getting used to work hours again (with the help of a lot of caffeine!).

One of my style resolutions this year is to shop my closet more and remix the pieces I already own.  My closet is over-flowing and I don't deny that I've used this blog as an excuse on more than one occasion to pick up something new.  However, now my closet literally won't hold any more clothes.  Thankfully, my shoe closet still has a little bit of room...

I last wore this dress here (you can tell I really like this necklace with this dress, lol) on the blog and have lots of cute summer dresses that I'm trying to get more wears out of.  I made this one winter appropriate by layering it over my favorite button down (seriously this BR one is the best!), and tights and adding a great blazer.  Not all of my summer dresses can transition like this, but I definitely plan to remix any dresses that aren't too summery in a similar fashion.

Keeping It Simple

Blazer: Custom, similar
Dress: Forever 21, almost identical here and here
Purse: Coach, sold out
Necklace: BaubleBar, sold out
Earrings: BaubleBar
Shoes: Zara, similar

Happy Friday!  I'm looking forward to checking out the friends and family sales at Ann Taylor (code: Friends40 for 40% off) and Gap this weekend and attempting to clean out my closet to see what I really need (not want) for fall.

Do you have those outfits which are your go-to outfits that have the ability to transform how you feel and make you feel instantly put together and more confident?  For me, sometimes it is the simple outfits that make me feel the best.  Bright colors make me feel happy so the color of this dress is perfect when I need a little pick me up and we know how obsessed I am with this white blazer (seen here and here , you get the idea...).  With a great pair of heels, this has become my outfit when I oversleep or just can't figure out what to wear. Now you know the truth of my morning if you see me in this outfit!

What is your go-to outfit to feel instantly pulled together?

Have a great weekend!

Keeping it short today as this week is slightly crazy at work.  Thanks so much for all of your sweet comments.  I'm a little behind on responding!

We all know I love a good color blocking look and this is no exception.  I had to add my new bag.  I broke down and bought the brown version of my Old Navy bucket bag as it was on sale over July 4th!  I can never resist a good deal!

Dress: Gap, runs big
Belt: Old Navy, similar
Purse: Old Navy
Sandals: Target
Necklace: Forever 21
Bracelet: Bauble Bar, C. Wonder, sold out

I hope you had a great July 4th weekend!  Mine was a little lower key than expected as I fell asleep after the race and slept through the fireworks...  I guess my body needed the rest.

One of the summer trends that I love is the LWD and I have been on the hunt for the perfect one.  I thought I found it at Gap with this one, but the sizing was a little off. While returning it, I stumbled on this beautiful coral dress which was calling my name.  I love the shape, the color, and of course the fact that it has pockets!  You may have seen it on my Instagram last night (here) out for drinks with friends and I've worn it to work with a blazer and heels.  I can't recommend this dress enough.

Unfortunately, I can't say the same thing about the necklace.  I loved the turquoise color, but it broke after 2 weeks/3 wears.  I know I shouldn't have expected much from a $5 necklace, but I was still very disappointed in the quality.

I know summer is halfway over, but are there any summer trends you still want to try?  I hope your week is off to a great start!

Printed Maxi Dress

Dress: Old Navy
Clutch: Asos, old, love this one and this one
Earrings: BaubleBar, old
Bracelet: Forever 21, available in store
Sandals: Matt Bernson, old

I know it seems like I'm on an Old Navy kick, but I feel like I'm rediscovering them.  I never used to go in, but now that there is one close to my office, I find myself popping in more frequently.  The bright colors in this dress caught my eye and any maxi that is short enough for me to wear flats with is great in my book.  I know you've probably seen this dress on a few other bloggers, but I loved it too much not to get it.

On summer weekends, I just want a dress that can go from the pool or a casual brunch to dinner or drinks out with a simple change of accessories.  By amping up the jewelry and adding a clutch, this dress is now ready for a fun night out!

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
