I hope you had a great Easter weekend!  My family always gets together for brunch/dinner and we usually spend the day reconnecting.  I'm very close to my parents and appreciate any time we can spend together.  We all get so busy that it is great to spend quality time together.   I hope you were able to enjoy the weekend as well.

I bought this dress during the last big Piperlime sale and while I really like it, I was a little surprised at how short the under skirt is!  I'm only 5'2 and this dress would be indecent on someone much taller than me.   It was final sale, but thankfully it was such a great deal.  I'm sure I can find a few places to wear it over the spring/summer.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

I hope your week is going well!  When The Mint Julep Boutique reached out to me about styling one of their pieces, I was excited and a little nervous since I didn't know if I would find anything that was "me" since I' a little older than their target customer.  Little did I know that I would actually have a hard time narrowing it down to this dress!

In addition to the beautiful coloring and detailing on this dress, the best part about this dress is that I felt amazing in it.  Over the past week, I've had a few episodes at work and outside of work that have shaken my confidence and it was great to wear this dress out with friends for dinner and drinks.  That's not to say that I everything was instantly better and I don't have work to do to regain my confidence in certain areas (still trying to figure that out a bit...), but sometimes it is just nice to dress up in a pretty dress, hang out with friends, and forget all of your problems for at least a night.

Do you have a go to outfit that makes you feel great?

The lovely ladies at The Mint Julep Boutique are going to giveaway a $25 gift card to one lucky reader!  I would probably spend it on this dress, this top, or this dress.  I was very surprised at how quickly items move on their site so if you see something you like, jump on it!  I'm speaking as someone who waited too long on an item.....

Holiday Party Dress

Dress: Fab'rik (runs small)
Clutch: Old Navy, old
Shoes: Jean-Michel Cazabat, similar
Earrings: Baublebar, old
Bracelets: Baublebar (here, here), C.Wonder, old

I hope your week is going well!  It is crazy that is the middle of November and Christmas is right around the corner.  I have my first holiday party this weekend and while I love getting dressed up, I don't love spending a fortune on holiday party dresses (or fancy dresses in general) since the cost per wear is never very good.  My requirements for a holiday dress are simple: it has to be pretty, figure flattering, versatile enough to be worn to multiple events, and not too expensive.  Luckily, this Fab'rik dress hits all of my requirements and definitely doesn't break the bank at $52 (!).  Apologies in advance to all of my friends as you will be seeing a lot of this dress over the holiday season!

I hope you had a great weekend!  Mine was spent catching up on everything after spending Thursday and Friday in NYC for work.  I kind of wish I had one more day before going back to work....

I know I showed this dress on my wish list on Friday, but I'm so in love with it.  The color is so vibrant and the sheer panels add the perfect amount of sex appeal.  It made me feel so feminine and pretty that I couldn't resist twirling in it!  Unfortunately, it seems like everyone else also loved it as this color is sold out.  This dress is worth stalking though in case this color comes back in stock.

Please excuse the silly grin on my face in some of the pictures.  I took these pictures at my aunt and uncle's 50th anniversary party and I couldn't stop smiling.  It was so great to see all of my family and the love that is still there after 50 years!

I hope your week is off to a great start!

I hope you guys had a great weekend!  I had a busy but fun weekend with my cousin's wedding on Saturday and my friend's breast cancer awareness fundraiser on Sunday.  Her foundation, Kimberly D. Burton Foundation, hosts a Life in Pink Stilettos luncheon every year to raise money for breast cancer awareness and prevention.  It is always a very informative and enjoyable event for a cause that is very close to my heart as my mother is a breast cancer survivor.  In keeping with the theme, I wore a pink dress and paired it with blue accents, including one my favorite clutches. This is another dress I had made in Vietnam (a great deal at much less than $100) and while it is a little lower than what I would normally wear, I love the shape of this dress.

Have a great day!

I hope your week is going well!  I know I'm so behind on posting any pictures from Vietnam.  I'm still trying to go through all of my pictures.  This was my first big trip with my DSLR and I went a little snap happy.

One of the cities we visited in Vietnam was Hoi An, a small, quaint beach town with a booming tailoring industry.  I knew from the time we booked our trip that I wanted to have a few things made and got some great recommendations.  I ended up selecting A. Dong, which wasn't the cheapest place in town, but but had some of the best reviews.  However this dress ended up being the same price as the original Asos dress!

I only intended to have two pieces made, but once I started browsing their Pinterest inspiration board, with thousands of amazing pins, I knew I was in trouble.  I restrained myself from going too overboard and only ordered 2 blazers and 2 dress.

This dress was inspired by a Asos dress that I loved, but only came in a racer back version.  I knew that the alternations I would have to do would cost more than the Asos version so I decided to make my own. I couldn't be happier with the results!  I love all the pieces and have been wearing this and one of the blazers non-stop!  I'm already trying to figure out how and when I can get back to have more pieces made!

By the way, I promise I know how to iron!  I didn't realize how wrinkled this dress was until I saw these pictures!
