Can you believe that it is April already?!  This year is flying by!

Do you have any pieces in your closet that were so cute in the store, but you just can't figure out how to wear them?  This skirt is one of those pieces for me.  I fell in love with it last fall, but it sits in my closet taunting me as I can't figure out what to pair it with.  My chambray shirt came to the rescue this time, but I know there are so many other cute ways to style this shirt.  I just can't figure them out!

You guys all know that I love a great blazer (and I need a new one like I need a hole in the head...).  But when my favorite associate at Fab'rik texted me about this jacket, I knew I had to have it!  Giving my number him has been so dangerous for my bank account...   This jacket is such a fun statement piece that will look great with jeans (above) or a cute long-sleeve dress.  I'm slightly annoyed that the versions I found and linked to above are less than I paid, but I'm always happy to support one of my favorite local boutiques.  Hopefully, one of you can take advantage of the great deal!

I hope you had a great weekend!  I've had this dress for a long time (I'm almost embarrassed to say how many years...), but rarely wore it as I never really knew what to pair it with.  The dress is cashmere and so soft, but very warm and also a little more form-fitting than I normally wear.  It probably wasn't the smartest decision to throw my fur vest over it (I think I was a puddle by the end of the night), but was fun to step outside of my fashion comfort zone for a night at least.  It isn't fun to always play it safe!

We all know how much I love black and white, but I decided to switch things up a bit and pair grey and white together for a change.  Grey has been such a big color for fall/winter, but it will transition perfectly into spring also (especially the lighter shades).  I'm looking forward to pairing this grey sweater with pink when it gets warmer.

I hope you had a great weekend!  I'm so excited, but also can't quite believe that it is Christmas week.  I still have a few things to pick up before the big day, but I'm definitely looking forward to a little rest, relaxation and family time.  

I'm all about remixing pieces in my closet and keeping everything to a reasonable cost per wear (the original cost of the item divided by the number of times you wear an item).  On Friday, I shared some of my picks for NYE outfits.  I'm always looking for ways to get more wears out everything in my closet, including my party dresses.  I last wore this dress here with my tuxedo blazer and decided to dress it down for a dinner with the family by layering it over a turtleneck and adding my trusty denim jacket which makes any outfit slightly more casual but still pulled together.

I know most of us (except the #procrastinators (i.e. me)) have finished their Christmas shopping, but I wanted to share one last sale.  We all know how much I love Bauble Bar and I'm very excited they started their sale before Christmas.  I've got my eye on these earrings, this necklace, and this cute pouch to store everything.  Shop the sale here.

I hope you had a great weekend!  Mine was relatively low key other than my friend's dessert party.  I'm not much of a baker so it is great having friends who love to bake.  My friend made 10 different kinds of desserts, including mini pumpkin scones which were amazing!  I had to make a little scone doggie bag, which I enjoyed while watching The Wire today.  I missed it when it was first on, but it is such a well-written show!

I know I was a little slow on the plaid trend when it first started, but plaid has become this season's chambray for me.  In fact, I can't remember the last time I wore my chambray shirt.  Add in my favorite distressed denim jeans and grey suede boots, and this is the perfect weekend outfit.

Happy Friday!  I hope you had a great week!  It is so hard to believe that Christmas is less than 2 weeks away.  One of my favorites parts of the holidays is spending time with family and friends.  This weekend one of my friends is throwing a casual holiday dessert party (the diet starts in January...).  I've never been to a dessert party, but as someone who has a huge sweet tooth, I can't wait!  While I love getting dressed up for holiday parties (see here), it is also nice to be a little more casual sometimes which is why I'm going to wear this (or something like this) to her party.  I didn't realize I was wearing this jacket with my fancy holiday party outfit also, but it is such a staple around the holidays for me that I'm not surprised.  I love it here with my go-to distressed jeans and clutch that I can't seem to live without (I literally don't know what I carried before I bought this Clare V. leopard clutch....).  And thankfully these jeans are stretchy enough for all the sweets I plan to enjoy!
